Funding Opportunities

EPOS-scholarship option for IUSD Double Degree program
The DAAD offers a limited number of full scholarships for students from a wide range of countries (see DAC-List) studying in the Double Degree Program.

The scholarships are provided through the EPOS program and cover the entire duration of the course (including travel costs to both countries). EPOS scholarships are only available for the Double Degree Program, studying the first year in  Stuttgart, and second year Cairo.

Please note:

- Applying for the EPOS scholarship requires at least two years of  program related professional working experience.

- You need to check your eligibility individually here:

EPOS application

If you would like to apply for the EPOS scholarship, you would have to submit your academic application and documents at BOTH universities through the online portals AND submit the EPOS application and documents until October 31st to the epos email address: info[at]iusd.uni-stuttgart.de, attaching  the following separate documents:

- DAAD application form  (download form)
- Curriculum Vitae (using the Europass Specimen Form for the CV)
- Two Recommendation letters at least (one academic and one professional)

Please note:
Academic Letter/-s of recommendation from your university: the letter must have a signature and official stamp and must be of recent date (not in a sealed envelope).
Professional Letter/-s of recommendation from your employer: the letter must have a signature and official stamp and must be of recent date (not in a sealed envelope). The letters should proof a work experience for the past two years.
Certificate(s) of employment from the employer in the home country and if possible, a guarantee of re-employment upon returning home.

Please note: Certificate(s) of employment have to contain the exact period of employment (by date / day) and the date of issuing.

Please note: You need both registration numbers of both universities to fill out the form. This document is NOT the application for the scholarship. It is just to identify your applications in the two different systems of Ain Shams University and University of Stuttgart.

Erasmus+ Student Exchange

IUSD Students enrolled at University of Stuttgart and Ain Shams University have the opportunity to benefit from Erasmus+ programme to travel for a One-Semester Exchange at the other university  during their third semester. Students will be offered travel allowance and monthly stipend for a period up to 6 months. For more information, please contact IUSD office

Scholarships for IUSD Stuttgart or IUSD Cairo

Students from previous intakes have received scholarships from different donors. There are various individual scholarship possibilities available through German and international institutions as well as institutions in the home countries of applicants.

Study fees

1 EPOS funded IUSD Double Degree (Stuttgart and Cairo)

Please note: University Stuttgart will raise study fees for non EU students. EPOS scholarship holders will be exempted from this!

Registration fees
Registration fees for the University of Stuttgart are about 170 € each semester (will be indicated by administration, incl. administration, library, etc.). 
For EPOS scholarship holder the study fees of IUSD-Cairo are covered by DAAD.  
Each student has to pay University of Stuttgart fees at the beginning of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th semester and Ain Shams University fees at the beginning of the 1st and 2nd year.  

Excursion fees
Excursion fees during your time at USTUTT and ASU are approximately 250€ each semester. The fees cover mandatory field trips, conference participation, transport, accommodation, and entrance fees.

2 IUSD Cairo 

Study fees

1.For international students:
Study fees of IUSD-Cairo are set at 5000 Euros for each academic year*.
These fees incl. administration fees, course offerings, access to lab equipment, computer systems and libraries, and facility upkeep.
Each student has the choice to either pay the study fees at the beginning of the 1st and 2nd academic year in full or pay half the fees of  an academic year at beginning of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th semester.

* The fees sums are subject to annual revision through the IUSD-ASU steering committee board.

2. For Egyptian students:
The study fees of IUSD-Cairo for Egyptian students are calculated based on the number of Credit Hours (CH) the students register in the beginning of each semester. For the academic year 2017-2018, the value of one CH is set to 950,- EGP. These fees cover administration fees, excursion fees, course offerings, access to lab equipment, computer systems and libraries, and facility upkeep.

The value of the CH is subjected to annual revision through the IUSD-ASU steering committee board

The average fees per semester is 14,000 EGP (varies based on the number of CH for each semester)

 

3 IUSD Stuttgart 

Study fees
After the decision of the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts Baden-Württemberg in May 2017, University of Stuttgart has to raise its study fees for non EU members. The University will charge non EU students with 1500,- Euro per semester. Please find detailed information about the regulations and exemptions on the official website of the ministry:

Registration fees for the University of Stuttgart are presently 166,50€ each semester. (Incl. administration, library, language courses, etc.). Each student has to pay University of Stuttgart fees at the beginning of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th semester.
